Culture: Pride in Our Cultural Heritage

Pearlville School Iri ji Festival is a festival that showcases the culture and pride of the Igbo people. Through the Festival, the school aims to expose the students to the traditions and values of the Igbos thereby closing the cultural gap that continues to widen among today’s students of the South East extraction. During the Iri Ji Festival, we invite traditional rulers and supporters of Igbo culture who enlighten our young ones on the traditions and cultures of the Igbos. We use the medium to show case different Igbo traditions, values, expectations using both oral and practical activities and exploring cultural themes such as Igu aha, Izu ahia, Iwa Orji, Iku nhie Ubi, Igba mgba, Iku Ugbo, Igu aha and many other activities.
